The Everyday Emily

I am a homeschooling mom to 7 kids, a Sonic happy hour addict, a photographer, a housekeeper, an aspiring exercise addict (remember that Sonic addiction…), animal wrangler, and the wife of a lineman. I have been called by God to be a mother, and I strive to be the best mother I can be. I was born and raised in the South, and I hope to never live anywhere else (except maybe Hawaii or Ireland…). I love the smell of fields burning after harvest season, getting behind a tractor on a state highway, and that everyone here says y’all.

Several years ago our family of 6 bought an 1900 sq. ft. Victorian farmhouse (formerly a dogtrot log cabin). –You can read more about that here.–   We adored our house. We remodeled the bathroom into a perfect oasis for a tired mama. Then we put it up for sale (*insert horrified face*), and we moved to the foothills of the Ozarks and added 3 more kids. THEN we sold my “dream house,” and moved back to the flatlands. This time, purchasing a run down farm house. We’re in the process of remodeling it, so join us for the craziness of life!

Big changes have come our way over the years, and I’m excited to see what else God has in store for us!

I love to share random thoughts from me, thoughts on what God is teaching me through motherhood, funny things my kids do and say, updates and photos as we make our house our home, and some helpful tips and reviews.
